River Raisin Jazz Festival Hosts "Heavy-hitters"
We are so very proud of our little festival here in the mid-west town of Monroe becuase in our very short 9 year's of entertaining thousands upon thousands of Jazz lovers just like us, we have hosted the biggest names in Jazz. David Sanborn, Chuck Mangione, Jeff Lorber, Maysa, Sypro Gyra, Ray Parker Jr, Nelson Rangell, Rick Braun, Chris Botti, David Benoit, Earl Klugh, Larry Carlton, Russ Freeman & The Rippingtons, The Sax Pack, Joyce Cooling, Euge Groove, Paul Brown, Stanley Jordan, Angela Bofil, Peter White, Alexander Zonjic, The Motor City Horns, Jessy J, Marion Meadows, Doc Powell, Doc Gibbs, Joe McBride, Richard Elliot, Warren Hill, Ken Navarro, Michael Lington, Nick Collionne, Jackiem Joyner and many more. Our festival has been called the "fastest growning FREE Jazz Festival in the Mid-West". Rick Braun Is In Town!
International Jazz Superstar Rick Braun will play the 2nd Annual Jazzin' Tiffin Festival in Tiffin Ohio this weekend on Saturday and perform a "rare" club gig at The Flame on the River in Downtown Toledo on Sunday evening providing fans two excellent opportunities to see the trumpeter here in the Great Lakes area. Braun will healine the Tiffin Festival and perform following Alexander Zonjic & Friends at 8 pm. On Sunday in Toledo, his performance times are 5 pm till 9 pm. Welcome to the River Raisin Jazz Festival! Located in St. Mary's Park on the banks of the Historic River Raisin in Beautiful Downtown Monroe, Michigan and held the 2nd weekend in August each year, the festival is a tribute to the arts and is dedicated to the strong cultural history of Monroe!
Established in 2002 by Producer John Patterson, the festival has hosted the biggest names in Jazz. David Sanborn, Chuck Mangione, Spyro Gyra, Earl Klugh, Chris Botti, Ray Parker Jr, Russ Freeman & The Rippingtons, Chuck Loeb, Nelson Rangell, Alexander Zonjic and many, many more.
We have also hosted spectacular regional and local groups with diverse specialty and creative works unmatched in the genre.
We invite you to join us in 2011 for our 10th Anniversary River Raisin Jazz Festival, August 12-14.
